Andy Levis
Andy and his wife Sue have been residents of Mottram St. Andrew since 2002. He spent most of his working life in IT at Manchester City Council before taking a change of direction into the events industry. Sue is a keen horsewoman with a win at the Horse of the Year Show, and now spends most of her time looking after her numerous horses aided by their daughter who recently qualified from the RVC as a veterinary nurse. Their son is a qualified diving instructor having spent nearly 2 years in Australia training. Andy joined the Parish Council in 2017 and when not practising on his motorsport simulator can be found on the fairways of Hazel Grove Golf Club.
Mike Battersby
Joseph Houston
Joseph has been named on the Stage 100’s annual definitive list of the 100 most Influential people in UK Theatre since 2018. In 2015 he co-founded the now multi award winning Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, where he is Artistic Director. The venue transitioned into a charity (Factory of Creativity CIO) in late 2019 and now has an extensive programme of Outreach and Community work, working with people of all ages across Greater Manchester, including a youth theatre school. As a director Joseph has worked on a range of critically acclaimed productions including the European premiere of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, A Christmas Carol the musical, Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antiques the Musical and the upcoming production of Disney’s High School Musical. Houston is the recipient of a Hospital Club Award, Manchester Theatre Award, Northern Soul Award and Peter Brook Empty Space Award for his services to theatre and the arts. Joseph moved to Mottram St. Andrew with his husband William in 2022.
David Martin
David is from Stoke on Trent and, after moving around the country, he settled in Mottram St Andrew in 2001. He was a chemical engineer before becoming a private equity investor operating out of London and Hamburg. Now retired, he enjoys gardening, golf and French wine. David is a Village Hall Trustee and the Treasurer of the Mottram St Andrew Fly Fishing Club.
Jack Sidebottom
John will be known to many of you in the Village as “Jack” who runs the Farm Shop at Brookhouse Farm. He has lived in the Village all his life as his family are well known and respected members of the Farming community. Jack and his wife Ella balance being parents to three young children with the demands of running a thriving and growing business. Jack is passionate about Village life and did not hesitate to find the time to serve the Community no matter how demanding his other responsibilities may be.
Parish Clerk
Paula Mott
Paula took over the position of parish clerk on 1st April 2026.
Originally from Nottinghamshire, she is married to David, and after a brief spell working for Stockport Museum Service has spent 26 teaching in a Bramhall primary school, where she continues to be involved on a casual basis.
Paula is passionate about the importance of local community and volunteers to help out wherever she can, though being secretary of a local community centre was never part of the plan, and this now takes up plenty of her time. She has run a Macmillan Coffee morning for 10 years, organised a few Christmas Markets and run wreath making workshops.
Outside of work Paula enjoys gardening, craft, exploring the UK in a touring caravan, as well as attending local community events such as coffee mornings and horticultural shows, which is how she ended up in Mottram St Andrew.
