Provide information on infection control
This current coronavirus is called SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2) and the disease it causes has been named COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019)
It is thought to be spread by close contact through infected droplets in the air from coughing or sneezing being inhaled or by entering the body through your nose, mouth or eyes. Contaminated surfaces can transmit the disease if hands are not washed before touching the nose, mouth or eyes. It is unlikely to be spread by packages or food.
There is currently no specific treatment for coronavirus.
Antibiotics do not help, as they do not work against viruses.
Treatment aims to relieve the symptoms while your body fights the illness.
You’ll need to stay in isolation, away from other people, until you have recovered.
