MOTTRAM St.ANDREW REMEMBERS
On Sunday 14th November the community gathered together in the Methodist Chapel in Priest Lane to remember the 23 men from the village who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars.
The service was led by the Reverend Sue Swires.
The Act of Remembrance was led by Councillor Robert Hughes with Karen Robinson sounding the last post and reveille on her bugle to denote the start and end of the two minutes silence at eleven o’clock.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the community by Anna Raines and Bill Pilkington whilst the organist Vivian East played the tune “Supreme Sacrifice”.
