Andy Levis

Andy and his wife Sue have been residents of Mottram St. Andrew since 2002. He spent most of his working life in IT at Manchester City Council before taking a change of direction into the events industry. Sue is a keen horsewoman with a win at the Horse of the Year Show, and now spends most of her time looking after her numerous horses aided by their daughter who recently qualified from the RVC as a veterinary nurse. Their son is a qualified diving instructor having spent nearly 2 years in Australia training. Andy joined the Parish Council in 2017 and when not practising on his motorsport simulator can be found on the fairways of Hazel Grove Golf Club.

SIMON LANE

Simon is married with three children, moved from Wilmslow to the village in 2021 and works at a Cheshire based property investment company. He has previously volunteered in various capacities including school governor, vice chair of a national search and rescue organisation and Team Leader of Cheshire Search and Rescue Team. Simon was awarded an MBE in 2020 for services to the community of Cheshire and the Queens Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022. He enjoys spending his spare time with family, travelling, walking and fishing (as a proud member of Mottram St Andrew Fly Fishing Club) but freely admits to being utterly inept at the latter.

David Martin

David is from Stoke on Trent and, after moving around the country, he settled in Mottram St Andrew in 2001. He was a chemical engineer before becoming a private equity investor operating out of London and Hamburg. Now retired, he enjoys gardening, golf and French wine. David is a Village Hall Trustee and the Treasurer of the Mottram St Andrew Fly Fishing Club.

Jackie has lived in the village for 9 years with her husband. She is a solicitor by occupation and a non-executive director at East Cheshire NHS Trust. Her interests outside of family, work and contributing to the community are keeping fit, travelling in their campervan and walking their dog.

Judith Shaw

Judith Shaw

Judith was born in the village where she has lived all her life. Judith went to MSA Primary School then onto secondary & higher education in Macclesfield.

Her working life was at ICI/Zeneca/AstraZeneca as a Cell Biologist until her retirement 12 years ago.

Since retiring she has extended her love of animals to rescue & rehome ferrets, many arriving into her care from very bad circumstances. They were nursed back to health and loving forever homes found.

Judith has been involved with the Village Hall as a trustee & committee member and held the position of Booking Secretary for many years. She also sat on the Social club committee.

Judith has a son & two stepdaughters who all have young families which keep her & husband Mick busy.

Judith & Mick enjoy holidaying around the UK in their motor home with their 2 small dogs.

Jack Sidebottom

John will be known to many of you in the Village as “Jack” who runs the Farm Shop at Brookhouse Farm. He has lived in the Village all his life as his family are well known and respected members of the Farming community. Jack and his wife Ella balance being parents to three young children with the demands of running a thriving and growing business. Jack is passionate about Village life and did not hesitate to find the time to serve the Community no matter how demanding his other responsibilities may be.

Ron Taylor LLB(Hons) Solicitor Non Practicing

Ron and his wife Pauline moved to the Village in 2005 as his retirement from the Role of Managing Partner of a Manchester Law firm approached. He took over the position of Clerk in 2009 using his skills for the benefit of the Community, soon qualifying additionally with a Certificate in Local Council Administration. Ron is a passionate fly fisherman and Game Angling Instructor, a contributor to Fly Fishing magazines, an enthusiastic but unaccomplished guitar player, golfer, gardener and wine connoisseur. He enjoys the recent additions to his and Pauline’s family of 5 grandchildren. Ron is also Chairman and founder member of the Mottram St. Andrew Fly Fishing Club.
